Before I knew You Before I knew You, You were just a name. You were just some random facts learned in church and school. You were just some stories I had heard, many too grand to be true. Before I knew You, You were just a word spoken from my mouth. Yeah “I know Him,” but not really true. You were just a faded image, an unlikely hero in a story book. Before I knew You, I thought I knew myself. I knew where I was going and what had to be done. I thought I had it all under control, with added insurance “just in case”. As time went by, life slipped away. What am I doing and where am I going? What happened to my plans and all of my control? Struggles of worthlessness and lack of love consumed each day. No direction and feeling lost. Standing at the crossroads without a clue because I didn’t know You. One day I realized what was missing in my life. The hero I’d heard about might possibly be true. With curiosity, driven by You, I set out on a search for the one called Christ. As I got to know You, my desires grew. I felt ashamed for having wasted so much time. Getting to know You more and more, I fell in love. Come in, come in! Come into this broken heart, please stay. Be my friend, my help, my guide. You see, before I knew You I was lost. Living life without a clue. I didn’t know what was missing, until I knew You. Now I’ve set a course on a wondrous journey. Looking back at faded dreams to see how far I’ve come. Looking forward to everlasting life with You in Heaven. Life today is full of hope and promise. I’ve found my worth, Your love, and God honest Truth. There’s no turning back to life before I knew You.

I found this online at overcomingglory.com/Wineskin.html. I really felt this was a prophetic word that spoke to me about our church and what we're going through right now. (We just had to move out of our old church building of 25+ years into our new but smaller youth center building until the addition, our new sanctuary, is built. We had to lose something, shed the old, so we could gain something new and better!) But I also really feel this is for ALL of us as the body of Christ. I hope it encourages you as it did me.
Wineskin I have been in hiding, observing, watching, and seeing, looking at where you are and how you fare. For some of you it is time-time for new things- new wine and new wineskins. This requires a lifestyle adjustment and change. Some are ready and looking for this. Those who remain as they are will continue as they are; in their old wineskins of familiar habits, patterns and works. But for those who seek Me, who want Me, and desire to know more of Me, (not just the works of My hands), they shall shed their old wineskins, of thinking and doing, and receive the new wineskins. (Matthew 9:17)
I will flood their empty skins with new anointing, new privileges, and new things of greater, expanded worth and knowledge. They will come up higher into the realm of My thinking and My presence will overwhelm, saturate, and cause them to become increasingly more effective. They will do exploits. They will resound with the sound of heaven’s footsteps; they will become frequent flyers- passengers and messengers of My Spirit. They will be taught and frequent the high places and return to change the earth and bring forth My glory and kingdom there. (Ephesians 1:3, 2:6, Revelation 4:1) For this is the Gospel: to expand My kingdom on earth- to fill up the wilderness with My River and song, to arise and shine like the Son as His glory rises and is seen upon them in greater ways. (Isaiah 60, Ezekiel 47)
Expect these things. Welcome these things. Don’t settle for less. Give Me your old wineskins. But you say, “Lord, it’s all I have, I will have nothing if I give this up. I won’t know what to do or how to act!” But I tell you I do not take away to leave you empty, (“I know the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11) I take away so I can increase and add to you and give you a new, increased, ever-flowing anointing. Your old wineskin will burst if you try to hold onto it and receive the new wine. You will lose both if you remain as you are. (Luke 5:37-38)
Trust Me with all of your heart. Give Me all as you come into My presence. I will fill and expand and you will be succored [aided, relieved], helped, and taught by My Spirit. You will walk on the high places and tread on unpaved places and know the greatness of your God. (Habukkuk 3:19 amplified version)
Prolong not the process or the decision making. For the wine vats are already being poured forth and yours is ready to be opened. New things I declare to you this day. To those who have an ear, and hearts to understand, let them hear what the Spirit is saying. Let this message be received this day. The new wineskins are being dispatched from the rack of the storehouse of My Love. Your name is there, your personalized wineskin ready-made just for you. Come. Receive it today. Find access to Me for I Am waiting. Fear not. Doubt not. Be as a child and come, knowing I will not deceive you or trick you or lay in wait to harm you.
It is a good thing that I do. It is a good thing to receive this new wine into new wineskins; for it is coming from your good God Who makes all things good, new, and ready.
Come. Partake. I’ve prepared all this. I’ve made it just for you.

Here's a little story I wrote that I wanted to share: A woman was working hard, fashioning a key out of glittering gold and exquisite gem stones. She made the key larger and more ornately beautiful each day. She was so proud of all she had accomplished. As she was sitting on her porch one day, a man came by and saw her polishing this glorious key. He asked her what the key key was for. She proudly smiled and and said it was her key to Heaven. "You see," she explained, "every time I do something good, I add more gems to the key as a reminder of all I have done for others. I'm sure that my special key will someday unlock Heaven's gates." The man looked at her and offered her his key. He said it was the only key that would unlock the gate. He said she could have it as his gift to her. She glanced down and saw a rusty old key. "How could that key be the only one?", she thought. As she looked more closely at what was in the man's hand, she thought she saw the key change into a bloody nail. Quickly, she turned away, not wanting to carry such an ugly thing! The man wept for her as she returned to polishing her hand-made key. Finally the day came. Her key was complete. She arrived at the gate which was more glorious than she had ever imagined! She was anticipating her grand entrance into Heaven. She grabbed her beautiful key and tried to unlock the gate but her key crumbled to dust. She began to weep. Just then, she saw the man who had offered her the rusty old key. He was walking side by side with an old man. They came to the gate and with the rusty key, opened up the gate and there was a crowd of angels rejoicing at his arrival. At that moment, the woman understood the gift He offered was far greater than gold and gems. It meant more than all she had done. He had offered her a way into Heaven that she could never find or create. She realized that all along, she had needed Him. Without Him, she was nothing and all she had done amounted to nothing more than dust. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8,9
